"UNLUCKY"... these heart breaking words were to echo and re-echo throughout an innocent girl's whole life casting a deep and menacing shadow across the days to come.

Chhaya was a very charming child, pristine pure, like the morning dew, delicate, fresh and mercurial in temperament and looks. The climate of love which flowers a personality was denied to her. The dark and destructive storm of superstition blew away all the vistas of happiness from her life... in all this, the love of her father was the only Island in an otherwise swirling whirlpool of hate around her.

Then the tragedy struck her with full force.

The lady who had decided to make Chhaya her daughter-in-law was convinced that Chhaya's coming to her house, will result in the sheer destruction of her son and home. How could she afford that?

Chhaya was rejected as woman even... and this shock extinguished the last ray of Chhaya's hope... her father.

Now, Chhaya, nowhere to go, could go nowhere.

She came to Bombay to live with Leela, a friend of hers. Prakash, a pilot came into her life. His love was a harbinger of all those sweet dreams which a loving maiden, pure and unsullied, has. To Chhaya the difference was more after the rush of hate and superstition. Prakash offered to marry her.

The Supreme moment of happiness turned into the scorching eternity of humiliation. Prakash's mother was the same lady who rejected her before. She could not face the agony of defeat again and run away without meeting the mother.

Prakash's love could not bear this loss. He married her inspite of his mother's inhabitations.

Chhaya entered the house as a daughter-in-law in which all the cards were stacked against her. The attitude and fears of "ill-luck" again gained perspectives to un-imaginative proportions. Through the bleak shadows of doubts Chhaya began to feel for the delicate guidance of Love.

Once again the catastrophy struck her.

Prakash's plane crashed. Chhaya's whole world came crashing down. Her dreams were lost, her whole existence crumbled... even her faith was shattered. Amid the ruins of her life, she stood alone... rejected, defeated and condemned to eternity.

Love came back to her, fresh, pure and placid like the rosy dawn after a bleak and pitch dark stormy night of hallucinations and of complete destruction in the very person of her husband, Prakash.

How did this miracle happen...???
